Privacy

Two different things share this name — the app you install, and the website you're reading. They collect very different amounts, so they're separated below.

The app

Switchboard makes no network connections. It has no analytics, no crash reporting, no update check and no account. Nothing about you or your machine is sent anywhere, because nothing is sent anywhere at all.

It writes two files on your own computer and reads them back:

• %APPDATA%\Switchboard\profiles.json — the profiles you save.
• %APPDATA%\Switchboard\hotkeys.json — the keys you've bound.
• %LOCALAPPDATA%\Switchboard\crash.log — written only if the app crashes, so you can see why. It is never uploaded; if you want to report a bug, you choose to send it.

Uninstalling leaves those files in place on purpose, so reinstalling doesn't cost you your profiles. Delete the folders yourself if you want them gone.

This website

The site itself sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

If advertising is enabled, the ad network — Google AdSense — sets cookies and may use them and your IP address to show you ads, including ads based on your previous browsing. That is the ad network's processing, not mine; I never see who you are. You can control it at Google My Ad Center and read what Google does with it in their partner-sites policy.

If you click the tip-jar link, you leave this site for Buy Me a Coffee, who handle the payment and whose privacy policy applies from that point on. No payment details ever reach this site or me.

Downloads are served by the host named on the download button. They will see the request, as any web host does.
